Wilkat brings together, in one place, the personal and business interests of William and Ekaterina.
They are connected by a powerful love of nature.
The incredible bond between them is based on a shared sense of global adventure in search of a greater understanding of and appreciation for the natural and spiritual world that we live in.
William’s passion for the sustainable and profitable interaction between nature, rural society, traditional materials and architecture, food production and quality of life are equally matched by Ekaterina’s deep interest in lifestyles, communities, mental well being and healthier living based on understanding nature’s existing solutions.
Despite the world recently becoming a majority urban population, both William and Ekaterina are focused on building sustainable rural communities that offer a balanced peace difficult to achieve in an urban setting.
The UN estimates that a further 2.5 billion people will lead an urban lifestyle by 2050, equating to 68% of the world’s population.
Ekaterina’s work in psychology, kinesiology and related practices clearly demonstrates the benefit of a healthy rural lifestyle for young families.
On the flipside, rural depopulation can fragment societies, lead to reduction in rural services and impact mental health and quality of life.

William and Ekaterina are determined to focus on investing in the opportunity to strengthen rural communities based on sustainable and profitable natural capital investments.
Their mission contributes to global food security, protects our longevity by reducing carbon emissions, and promotes the production of high-integrity, delicious food and wine—within a healthy society, living in stunning homes set in outstanding natural habitats.
Sunshine is a global phenomenon—the trigger for photosynthesis and the biochemical process that preserves life on earth.
William and Ekaterina’s ambition captures both the sunshine (photons) radiated from our sun and converts it into energy, but also the more prosaic sunshine from people’s hearts in building harmonious teams in rural communities

Both William and Ekaterina have worked around the world in both rural and urban communities. They observe that while having the latest hi-tech FMCG gadgets is seemingly essential, addictive, and driven by peer pressure, it never really delivers complete satisfaction.
Not compared to watching trees you planted in previous years grow as you walk through your orchard at sunset, hearing your children run between the trees—smartphones left behind without being asked.
Walking home and standing around a logfire, drinking a nightcap as the sparks from the fire spiral up into the sky—this will never lose its natural, medicine-like magic.
